Kaiapoi Riverside Bowling Club

Situated in picturesque Hinemoa Park, 13 Belcher Street, Kaiapoi, the club provides for competitive, friendly and social bowls in a variety of ways, while community and corporate bowling events take place on a regular basis. The bowling club opened in 1902, in Murphy Park. Following the 2010 earthquake in which the green and clubhouse were severely damaged, the decision was made to relocate and in 2014 a new facility was opened in Hinemoa Park. Club members have won a number of Canterbury Centre and inter-club championships. Several players have represented Canterbury at inter-Centre level. We are a fully integrated club with an excellent club spirit built on inclusiveness and the One Bowls philosophy. New members are always welcome. Coaching is available to all new members and everyone is welcome to take advantage of coaching at any time. Kaiapoi Riverside has an excellent artificial, all-weather playing surface, is able to host highly successful tournaments, and is keen to develop younger bowlers through qualified Bowls NZ coaches. Provision has been made for a live natural green and it is hoped that this project will be undertaken in the near future. The non-competitive bowler is, however, looked after very well within the club. With new club facilities, completed in 2014, Kaiapoi Riverside is well equipped to take on the challenge of increasing membership and offers the community a facility where everyone is warmly welcomed and provided for. Social evenings occur at 4.30 pm on Friday and Saturday.
